After, reading about Mr Ng's past & how he lost his brother to lymphoma cancer & instead of moving on and going back to his normal routine, he what others deemed the unthinkable; of quitting his job and starting a garden in 2009 to help others in the same situation as his brother was in , but this time they were provided with free alternative treatment through TCM herbs.

 

Moved by his story, I wanted to create a purposeful landscape for I too had lost a loved one in this period; my Grandma, Mr Ng & other visitor who has suffered the loss of a loved one can come to this garden & sit in the secluded pavilions of self reflection among plants such as birds of paradise (afterlife), the water lily (healing) and other fragrant antidepressant plants. Once ready they then emerge from this pavilions to join other visitors in other spaces that creates a welcoming, uplifting & comforting entrance giving hope to visitors, no matter what situation they are in. Before, going to the herb garden for free alternative herb treatments.
