Singapore City Gallery, 1st Story Atrium | 2019

Exhibition running from 23 - 28 February 2019 by Singapore Polytechnic's Diploma in Landscape Architecture (DLA) in conjunction with Diploma in Architecture (DARCH) showcasing works from the graduating class of 2018/2019.

Designed around a constrained site, Storm water tanks are stacked up to form vertical wall of a gallery exhibit, allowing one to immerse themselves upon walking in.

In line with the exhibition's theme of 'Synergy', where we as Landscape Architecture students are taught to design inviting, yet immersive spaces in relation to our surroundings.

HTLD In-Class Exercise 1 | 2016

Brief: The exercise aims to help us have a better grasp of the design principles and create a 3d modelled design based of a 2d plan drawing.

2d Drawing: Inspired by my name Sebastian; shared with the red Jamaican crab from 'The Little Mermaid'.

3d Model: The centre circle/sphere reminded me of the Changi airport control tower's finial and a clam's pearl. Hence the tower was brought 'Under the sea'.

LDS/HTLD In-Class Exercise 3 | 2016

Brief: Choosing one of the Four Seasons from Vivaldi classical piece as inspiration and interpret it into your our spatial design creation.

3d Model: The design is inspired from parts of my favourite season Autumn where the pitch and volume of the music drowns out till its dead silent simulating the leaves of a tree leaves wittering before our eyes, before beginning again & drop from the trees. Creating a spiral like image in my mind, along with hilly terrain where a lush last tree of autumn sits on its peak and people from all walks of life make The Climb through obstacles (the bad) & along the way get to enjoy the journey (the good).

LDS In-Class Exercise 2 | 2016

Brief: Using Geometric 3d shapes/forms to create a model with a story, draw the model's plan & it's 4 elevations

3d Model: Intrigued by other designer thinking outside the box (pun intended), making cut outs on their regular cubes . I decided to mix mine up too and create a straight line where regular boxes conform to the norms of society. But, a few dare to be different and step out of this line and be their true self. This is especially so during our adolescence years, where we learn to be independent, find ourselves and growing into our adults bodies.

Many teen movies such as Mean Girls, The Breakfast  Club & Clueless distinctive showcases this type of traits.

O Level Design & Technology Work | 2015

The theme for the year was 'Maintenance'. The product aimed to maintain human posture through ergonomics, maintain the full utilisation of space by introducing a product that serves more than one function and maintain reader's attention through the soothing and relaxing rocking as if in a mother's womb.

The design was inspired by the Gashapon balls which served the purpose of protecting the toys within and it's geometric exterior along with a neutral skin colour scheme to create a contemporary, modern and artistic furniture/ piece for small apartment in dense populated cities.
