Rendered Layout Plan The new entrance garden design was created to welcome visitors to the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Community Herb Garden. The design was inspired by the History & beginnings of the NTU Community Herb Garden, it plays on the symbolism of an awareness ribbon used to show support for a cause. As many patients, family & friends often visit the garden to collect TCM herbs. On every visit, passing through this garden, the elements would warmly welcome and comfort them.
Sectional Elevation AA Design Objectives: 1. To be Aesthetically Pleasing 2. Aid interaction with humans and plants 3. To be Environmentally Friendly in all aspect 4.Cost conscious in material selection 5.create Community spaces for specific programs and function 6.Targeted For/To herb growing enthusiast of all ages & background (including the wheelchair bound)
Restroom Perspective Environmental strategies 1.Conserve existing trees to provide shade 2.Use the existing gradient form & minimal cut & fills to establish new platforms 3.Reduce waste by reusing items on-site/selling it off to fund the project 4.Save energy through Evaporative cooling, Stacked ventilation & no lawn area 5.Use wittered cuttings & aerobic composting to enrich soil 6.Having fish pond & wildlife attract plants 7.Have a natural filtration system through gravel & aquatic plants
