J XCHANGE //LTA/MOT INTEGRATED TRANSPORT HUB //

J XCHANGE seeks to explore the possibilities of maximising spaces utilization adjacent to Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) train tracks with a Mix-used development that bring together the Jurong East Bus Interchange, Ministry of Transport (MOT) & Land Transport Authority (LTA) offices under one roof: as part of the government’s decentralize efforts & plans to make Jurong Lake District (JLD) its 2nd Central Business District (CBD).

 

On the ground floor, Amidst the fortified shops walls lies a central Learning Forest that provide daily commuters & office worker’s instant visual & mental relief. Simultaneously, echoing Jurong’s forest & swampland past through biomimicking the coastal to inland habitat through 3 themed spaces: (Lively Mangroves, Emergent Loop & Understory Nook) and adopting a native planting palette showcasing our local flora.
